Brooke Trent is the founding member of Trent Law Firm, PLLC. Brooke has been practicing law in the Cedar Valley since 2007. She was a partner at another local firm prior to beginning Trent Law in 2015. She graduated summa cum laude from Wartburg College with a B.A. in business administration. Subsequently, she graduated from University of Iowa College of Law with a juris doctorate (J.D.) with highest honors for the Boyd Service Award. Brooke is also a former participant of the Walt Disney World College Program where she completed a practicum in human resource management and a practicum in guest service and expectations.
Brooke is actively and passionately involved in professional and community organizations. She enjoys teaching opportunities which include serving as a presenter for organizations such as Iowa Credit Union League, Iowa Land Title Association & National Business Institute and as an adjunct professor for University of Northern Iowa, Hawkeye Community College, and for Upper Iowa University’s MBA Program. Brooke has been elected to the Iowa Judicial Branch’s Judicial Nominating Committee for our judicial district and to the Iowa State Bar Association’s Real Estate Title Standards Committee. Brooke also received a mayoral appointment to serve on the Community Development Board for the City of Waterloo. Brooke previously served as an alumni member of Wartburg College's Leadership Certificate National Advisory Board and as the chairperson for Cedar Valley's Make-A-Wish Foundation of Iowa where she was honored as "2008 Volunteer of the Year." In 2016, Brooke was awarded the "20 under 40" Award by the Waterloo-Cedar Falls Courier for her community activism and professional dedication.

Virginia Wilber is a native of Waterloo and has been practicing law in the Cedar Valley since 2012. Prior to joining Trent Law in 2016, Virginia was an associate attorney at a law firm in Waterloo.
Virginia graduated summa cum laude from Drake University in 2004 with a B.A. in journalism, international relations and a minor in French. Subsequently, she moved to New York for a communications internship with The Fellowship of Reconciliation. While in New York, she attended law school at City University of New York School of Law (CUNY). She graduated from CUNY in 2010 with a juris doctorate (J.D.) and was then admitted to the New York State Bar.
In New York, Virginia participated in the International Women’s Human Rights Clinic and worked with the Nobel Women’s Initiative and the Women’s League of Burma on the International Tribunal on Crimes Against Women of Burma (March 2, 2010). She also interned with a federal magistrate judge in the Southern District of New York and with several national and local non-profits in the area of economic justice. She worked in both Manhattan and Brooklyn housing courts. Virginia was honored to receive the NY State Courts’ Access to Justice Program 2011 Pro Bono Service Award.
While in New York, Virginia met her husband Matt, a fellow Midwesterner. They returned to the Cedar Valley in 2012 and now have two beautiful children. Virginia has been a member of the Board of the Cedar Bend Humane Society since 2013 and served as Board Secretary from 2015-2017. She was elected to the magistrate nominating commission for Black Hawk County in 2012 and is a member of the Planning and Zoning Commission in Waterloo. Virginia also serves as an adjunct professor for business law in the MBA Program at Upper Iowa University's Waterloo Campus.
Virginia loves spending time with her family, visiting the Cedar Valley Arboretum, boating, reading, and traveling. She is a general practice attorney but her primary practice areas include guardianships & conservatorships, elder law (including Miller Trusts and Medicaid applications), juvenile law, real estate, contracts, business law, estate planning & probate, creditors’ rights (collections law), personal injury law and general litigation.
Rebecca Feiereisen is an associate attorney with Trent Law Firm, PLLC. Originally from Strawberry Point, Iowa, Rebecca has been practicing law since 2007 in both the Cedar Rapids area and in the Cedar Valley. She graduated with honors from University of Iowa with a B.A. in political science. Subsequently, she graduated from University of Iowa College of Law with a juris doctorate (J.D.).
Rebecca is passionately involved in her community. Rebecca is the incoming president for the Sunrise Chapter of Rotary International after many years of involvement. Rebecca also serves on the Iowa State Bar Association's Judicial Administration Committee. Additionally, Rebecca is an instructor for the National Business Institute for several topics involving family law.
Rebecca is a general practice attorney but her primary practice areas include family law (including divorce, child support, and child custody matters), personal injury law, and general litigation.
Amanda serves as the operations manager and as a legal assistant for Trent Law Firm, PLLC. In her role as operations manager, Amanda is assigned the day-to-day task of maintaining the business side of the firm. In her role as a legal assistant, she works with both attorneys on a variety of matters involving business formation (corporations, partnerships and limited liability companies), real estate matters (real estate closings, title review, title objection clearance, real estate transfer documents, farm sales/auctions, rental agreements, real estate purchase agreements & disclosures, FSBO), creditors’ rights (collections, small claims, civil lawsuits and litigation) and probate matters (estate planning, probate administration, trust administration, guardian ad litem, guardianship and conservatorship administration).
Amanda graduated cum laude from Upper Iowa University with a B.A. in Business Administration. Amanda has extensive client and customer service experience. She has worked in a variety of industries including direct sales and marketing, the financial sector, mortgage lending and legal services. She previously worked with Attorney Trent and Attorney Wilber at another law firm where her focus was exclusively real estate and closings.
Amanda is an Iowa native. She currently resides in Waterloo with her husband Jake and her two sons, Jaeden and Cruz. She serves on the Board of Directors for the Cedar Bend Humane Society and is an active volunteer in supporting youth sports. Amanda is passionate about the legal field and continues to expand her knowledge base to better assist our clients in all legal matters.
Malynda Ryan serves as a legal assistant for Trent Law Firm, PLLC. She works with all of our attorneys on a variety of matters involving family law (including divorce and custody matters), estate planning, real estate, creditor’s rights (including collections), and elder law (such as guardianship and conservatorship matters).
A native of Waterloo and an alum of Columbus High School, Malynda graduated cum laude from Wartburg College with a B.A. in Business Administration. While living in the United Kingdom, she earned a Master of Fine Arts with Distinction, which is the highest honors, from the University of Lincoln.
Malynda was previously a team manager in a customer service setting. That experience honed her skills to ensuring that clients are given the best service possible. She also has served as a legal assistant at other law firms in both Waterloo and in Davenport. Those experiences gave her the practical experience to provide responsive and attentive care to clients in a variety of legal service capacities.
In her spare time, Malynda is passionate about the humanities. She enjoys a variety of the Arts including visual, musical, and literature. She is an avid reader and enjoys creating textile arts.
Emily Sheerer, Legal Assistant
Emily Sheerer serves as a legal assistant for Trent Law Firm, PLLC. She works with all of our attorneys on a variety of matters involving estate planning, real estate, family law, creditor’s rights (including collections), and elder law (such as guardianship and conservatorship matters).
A native of Waterloo and a graduate of East High School, Emily has previously worked in banking, accounting and customer service industries before beginning work as a legal assistant. Her dedication to both detail and customer service enables to her to provide clients with responsive and attentive care. In her spare time, Emily and her husband make Cedar Falls their home where they enjoy spending time with their extended family, watching football and raising their two children.
Shelli Pint, Legal Assistant
Shelli Pint serves as a legal assistant for Trent Law Firm, PLLC. She works with all attorneys on a variety of matters especially in the areas of elder law, guardianships and conservatorships.
A resident of Jesup and a graduate of Cedar Falls High School, Shelli has an extensive background in the fields of marketing, sales, and banking. Shelli served for a number of years as the director of marketing and campus life at a local retirement community. Prior to that time, she worked as a legal assistant for a Waterloo law firm and then she worked as an office manager and personal banker for a number of years for a local bank. Shelli’s dedication to the community is shown through her active volunteerism with both Cedar Valley Hospice and at the Jesup Community Schools. These experiences, along with her desire to help others, enables her to provide our clients with prompt, compassionate, and attentive care.
Shelli and her husband raised their three children in Jesup where they currently reside. She loves spending time with her family and friends, reading a good book, and taking long walks with the family dog.
Quinton Baenziger, Intern
Quinton Baenziger is an Intern for Trent Law Firm, PLLC. He also attends the University of Northern Iowa where he is a Senior studying Finance with a minor in Ethics. He has made the Dean's List 5 semesters while at UNI. During the school year, Quinton is the Co-President of the Pre-Law Club and also works at Maucker Union. In his spare time, you will find Quinton at the gym, golfing, or disc golfing. Quinton loves to spend time outside with friends and family. Once he graduates in the spring of 2019, Quinton plans to attend law school.

Brooke has served as an elected member on the Iowa State Bar Association's Real Estate Title Standards Committee and as a mayor-appointee to serve on the City of Waterloo’s Community Development Board. This can involve wills, trusts, living wills, financial power-of-attorney, health care power-of-attorney, and burial designations. We can also assist you in probating your loved one’s estate and making the transfer of any related assets.
We have experience in assisting individuals with obtaining guardianships or conservatorships over children in need or over dependent adults. We can also provide representation for the children or the adults with diminished capacity via status as a guardian ad litem.
We have experience in assisting individuals recover money damages after they have been injured in a car accident or other unfortunate situation. Sometimes these experiences involve the litigation process, but other times these experiences involve negotiating a settlement with the other driver or his or her insurance company or simply reviewing the paperwork involving the settlement that the client has reached with the other party.
